Overview of Holdings:
Books
The archive contains over 2,500 volumes, organized thematically. A further 1,000 volumes are still stored privately due to a lack of space.

Newspapers and Magazines:
Contains over 1,000 titles. In addition, about 1,000 more titles are represented by single copies or small collections. Many supra-regional periodicals from the 1980s, as well as foreign titles, are available. The archive subscribes to more than 130 titles. Organized alphabetically.

Press and Document Collection:
Consists of over 200 binders and magazine files containing flyers, newspaper articles, and brochures on all subjects pertaining to social movements since the 1960s. Two-thirds of the material is only broadly sorted.

Overview of Holdings:
The ACDP is responsible for the archival materials of the Christian Democratic Union of Germany (CDU), its leading representatives, committees, and organizations. It also collects files and other materials of the Christian predecessor parties, as well as parties that merged into the Union. Since 1990, when the ACDP took over the archive and library of the East-CDU, it has also been an important source for researching GDR history. In addition, the written materials of international, and especially European, federations of Christian Democratic parties are archived. There is also a collection of central press and media documents and a library on politics and contemporary history.

Overview of Holdings:
The Green Memory Archive collects sources on the history of the political party Bündnis90/Die Grünen (the Green Party) and makes them available to the public.
It consists of three areas: the historical archive contains the files of party leadership, offices, and factions, as well as archival sources on the New Social Movements. In addition, the archive holds personal files of the individual actors. The library is purely a reference library with ca. 25,000 titles and ca. 1,500 journal subscriptions. The documentary collections of the archive comprise the third area: press releases and press reviews, posters, photographs, audio recordings and films, campaign artifacts, etc.

The Evangelical Central Archive in Berlin is the archive of the Evangelical Church in Germany (EKD). It maintains the archival written documents of the organs, offices, facilities and institutions of the EKD, the Union of Evangelical Churches (UEK) and the Federation of Evangelical Churches in the GDR (BEK), including their legal and functional predecessors. Overview of Holdings:
The archive stores the written documents of various imperial ministries, the Wehrmacht, the Nazi Party and its branches from 1933-1945 on several thousand rolls of microfilm; includes meeting minutes, written indictments and verdicts, as well as documents from the prosecution and defense at the Nürnberg trials. In addition, there are diary excerpts, statements, letters, and other such materials. Papers of former officers, public servants and functionaries of the Nazi period, statements from more than 3,000 participants or witnesses of contemporary events, primarily from 1933-1945.
There are also materials from court proceedings relevant to the period that occurred after 1945. There is a special documentation of German-speaking emigrants after 1933 that encompasses the papers of nearly 25,000 emigrants. The microfiche reproduction of files of the Office of Military Government for Germany (OMGUS) (ca. 100,000 microfiches) provide information on the fates of displaced persons and restitutions. The collection of publications rounds out the collection with brochures from agencies and publications of privately organized clubs, as well as a press collection with over 6,500 volumes and 7,000 rolls of microfilm of newspapers and magazines published since 1914.

Land Lippe: The former Lippische Landesarchiv makes up the core of the holdings. The materials contain files from 1207 to 1947.

Minden: Holdings contain the files of the Prussian government of Minden, as well as those of all administrative and judicial offices within the administrative region (1816–1947). Also contains the files of the county, office, and municipal administrations.

Documents from state offices and institutions that continued to exist after 1947 or were newly established make up the most recent group of holdings from the Detmold government. This group includes files from the police departments, from the courts, as well as from the administration of health and social services, and files from federal agencies.
